College, Career, & Technical Education Courses

The Architectural & Engineering Design program of study prepares students for a variety of engineering and design professions including architectural, civil, and mechanical design. Students will develop problem-solving and critical thinking skills by identifying the relationship between available resources and requirements of a project/problem to accomplish realistic planning. As they progress through the program of study, students create design solutions for increasingly sophisticated problem sets, presenting information through various modes of visual communication such as drawing, rendering, 3D modeling and Virtual Reality in combination with verbal and written communication. Students will compile all work each year to create a portfolio displaying skills and software mastered.

Cosmetology is an elective Career & technical high school course.  Students may enroll freshmen year and take four levels: Cosmetology I, II, III, and IV. 

Throughout the curriculum, students will learn and practice elements of hair design, nail techniques, facials, and skin care application in a simulated full-service salon environment, the only facility of its kind in Williamson County Schools. 

Students also study elements of salon business, job placement, and resume building in the upper levels of the curriculum.  

State board hours will be accrued toward state licensure.  

Law Enforcement Services prepares students for a range of careers in law enforcement, crime scene analysis, forensic science, public safety, and criminal justice. Course content emphasizes procedures and laws governing the application of justice in the United States, from constitutional rights to crisis scenario management to the elements of criminal investigations. Upon completion of this program of study, students will be equipped with strong knowledge and skill preparation for post-secondary or career opportunities in many law-enforcement and justice related fields.

The Education and Training career cluster prepares learners for postsecondary credentials and careers as educators, administrators, trainers, counselors, and other related learning support services.

Course content covers the components of instruction, teaching strategies, types of assessment, student learning, special populations, educational technology, classroom management, lesson planning, professionalism, human development, and more.

Upon completion of this program of study, students will have had the opportunity to work alongside educators in an internship experience, compile artifacts for a professional portfolio, and graduate prepared for further training at the postsecondary level.

The Film/TV Production program of study is designed for students interested in a range of entertainment and news media fields. Course content centers on production of various television, cinema, radio, and other audio and video products, including commercials, music, news, interactive programming, and film. Students complete all phases of the production process including planning, coordinating, capturing, editing, and distributing productions. Topics include but are not limited to concept creation, scripting, interviewing, budgeting, scheduling, set design, engineering, field and studio production, editing, and operating production equipment such as cameras, lights, and audio equipment. Upon completion of this program of study, students will be prepared to seek employment or advanced training as an audio and video equipment technician, camera operator, film and video editor, multimedia artist and animator, broadcast technician, and many other careers in entertainment and media.

Sport and Human Performance is designed to prepare students to pursue careers in kinesiology and exercise physiology services. Upon completion, proficient students will be able to apply concepts of anatomy and physiology, physics, chemistry, bioenergetics, and kinesiology to specific exercise science contexts. Through these connections, students will understand the importance that exercise, nutrition, and rehabilitation play in athletes or patients with debilitating or acute metabolic, orthopedic, neurological, psychological, and cardiovascular disorders. In addition, students have the opportunity to incorporate communication, goal setting, and information collection skills in their course work in preparation for future success in the workplace. Students will have the option to participate in a clinical internship at the end of the program.

Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO): HOSA - Future Health Professionals

The IT Pathway offers two tracks: Coding and Cybersecurity.

The Coding Track gives students the opportunity to learn to write programs using languages currently in high demand like Python and Java.

The Cybersecurity Track will look at ways to defend systems from cyber attack. It will explore the network security issues that affect modern day information systems. Students will build defenses to secure these systems.

Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO): Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA)

The Marketing and Management Career Pathway prepares learners for careers in planning, managing, and performing marketing activities to reach organizational objectives, as well as careers involved in the planning, management, and movement of people, materials, and products by road, air, rail, and water.
